In recent years, EU has issued a series of multilingual education policies and documents. These policies and documents have exerted great influences on the language education practices of EU countries, especially on the primary foreign language education. In order to cater for lhe development trends of economic globalization and meet the need of the protection of diversity of human civilizations and cultures, the policy of multilingualism and multiculturalism must be further enforced and implemented in a certain breadth and depth.
