日本帝国主义通过军事入侵，建立殖民机构，采取军事、经济、文化和教育等手段对大连地区实行长达40年的殖民统治，他们用“关东州”名义长期占领大连地区，以此作为侵略中国东北的军事基地，对中国东北实行经济掠夺和贸易垄断的中心。
