摘要
Sexual identity was diverse in Australian modernistic novels, and it was especially prominent in the works of Patrick White who was an im portant modernistic litterateur. White was hom osexual, and he gave a reflection to the sex-related identity concerns in a diverse way because he was deeply depressed by the Australian heterosexual system before and after the Second World War. The sexual themes of the Australian modernistic novels were often manifested in a subtle, indirect way. In this paper, the sexual identity and value of the characters in Australian modernistic novels are discussed,so as to profoundly explore the understandings of human nature.
