英汉口语交际中冗余的语用功能比较

A Comparative Study of Pragmatic Functions of Redundancy in English-Chinese Verbal Communication

冗余存在于各种语言中,英汉语言也不例外。适度的冗余在交际过程中能够起到礼貌、寒暄应酬、抒发情感、幽默讽刺、加强语义、解释说明、消除歧义、完整信息、修正信息、表达会话含义、反映人际关系等作用,能够促进交际的成功,帮助交际者达到交际目的。本文从语用学的角度,比较分析英汉口语交际中冗余的语用功能,以帮助读者提高运用英汉口语交际中冗余的能力,使冗余能够更好地为日常交际服务。

Redundancy exists in all languages including English and Chinese. Moderate redundancy used in communication can help show politeness, effect phatic communication, express one＇ s feelings, produce amusement and irony, intensify meaning, offer explanation, eliminate ambiguity, complete information, revise information, express conversational implicature and reflect hunman relationship, and it can ultimately make the communication successful and help achieve the goal of communication. This paper aims at a comparative study of the pragmatic functions of redundancy in English-Chinese verbal communication from the point of view of pragmatics in order to help the readers heighten their ability to utilize redundancy and make it serve their daily communication better.
