摘要
在中国,特别是对于大学毕业生而言,具备英语技能已经显得愈发重要。大量的以英语为母语的外籍教师加入到EFL教学队伍中则为中国学生提供了优越的英语语言与文化环境。然而有时外教的教学方式,以及缺乏对中国学生英语水平与文化的了解会影响其EFL教学效果。欲提高外教的教学有效性,就需要中国教师与外教相互学习,在教学方面进行合作,以期达到使学生受益于双方教学优势的目的。
High proficiency in English has gained increasing importance in China, particularly for university graduates. A large number of native English speaking teachers (NESTs) have joined the ranks of teachers of English as a foreign language (EFL), which provides Chinese students with a good learning environment of English and English cultures. However, their teaching methods, for lack of understanding of students' competence and Chinese culture, sometimes may diminish the effectiveness of their teaching. This paper argues that the teaching performance of NESTs could be improved by the mutual learning and cooperation between local English teachers (LETs) and NETs in teaching so that students could benefit from the strong points of the two parties.
