Predicament Faced by Global Diffusion of Chinese Literature

莫言荣获诺奖凸显出中国文学外译的乏力;凸显了中国文学走出去的困境:译入过多译出过少,现当代文学比例偏低,中国文学外译到底由谁来承担。应提高翻译报酬重视文学翻译学术价值,加大翻译中国现当代文学力度,采用"中国人为主,汉学家为辅"的译者模式。

Mo Yan's winning Nobel Prize in Literature highlights the inadequacy of translating Chinese literature. Predicament faced by global diffusion of Chinese literature includes: Imbalance between what is translated into and from Chinese literature,underrepresentation of modern and contemporary part in the Chinese literature that gets translated as well as who should take on this mission. Translation remuneration should be raised and its academic value be recognized. Efforts should be made to enhance global diffusion of modern and contemporary Chinese literature,which should be undertaken mainly by the Chinese but the Sinologist can play a complementary role.
