摘要
本文比较了国内12所研究型大学的大学英语课程设置的具体情况,发现各校在课程设置上都采用"必修+选修"的模式,缺乏自己明确的课程目标定位,过于照搬《教学要求》的内容;基础阶段课程偏重视听说能力,阅读教学地位相对薄弱,形成"重产出轻输入"的现象;选修课程具有一定的多样化,但是校本优势的特色课程未能凸显;另外在学分分配上,各校差异显著。研究建议各校根据自身特色、办学目标和学生需求等制定校本特色的大学英语课程目标,在课程设置上一如既往地重视阅读教学的传统地位,并且要依托校本优势,开设特色的选修和必修课程,形成大学英语百花齐放的春天。
This paper compared the present situation of College English course design in 12 research universities. It was found that a similar courses pattern-compulsory plus optional was adopted by all the universities, with an emphasis on listening and speaking ability and neglect in reading at compulsory stage. Most universities lack their own specific and distinctive objectives by copying too much the general objectives regulated in College English Curriculum Requirement. Though the optional courses in several universities reveal certain special features, however, the distinctiveness of each university has not been explored to its full potential. It was also found that these universities vary" on the number of credits assigned to College English Course. It is suggested that each university develop their own particular course objectives considering their respective advantages, educational goals, and students needs, and each university open their own distinctive optional courses relying on their own advantageous subjects, through which a brand new future of College English is created.
