On Cameroon's Funeral Custom:A Case Study of a Funeral in the Eglonga Village,Centre Area of Cameroon

喀麦隆丧葬习俗具有典型的非洲特色,同时具有自身独特的特点,反映了其所经历的历史进程。通过描述喀麦隆中部大区恩高仁盖村一位名叫马蒂尼·阿博莫(Martine Abomo)的葬礼的全过程,归纳出喀麦隆独特的丧葬文化习俗。研究表明,葬礼步骤、葬在家门口、死者身份、年龄、死亡原因不同导致的埋葬时间不同等构成了喀麦隆非穆斯林区独特的丧葬习俗,并且这些习俗与当地的音乐、舞蹈、宗教等具有十分密切的关系。

The funeral custom of Cameroon is both typically African and characteristic of itself , reflecting its own historical evolution .This paper , based on an unabridged record of the funeral of Martine Abomo in the Eglonga Village , Centre Area of Cameroon , explores the country ’ s unique funeral custom and culture , finding that the funeral procedures , the location of the grave in front of the house , and the different burying times in the light of the identities , ages and causes of death of the deceased , among others , constitute the unique non-Muslim funeral custom of Cameroon , which is closely related to the local music , dance, religion, etc.
