摘要
体验式学习是以学习者为中心,通过真实或虚拟地经历某一事件或过程,并经过反思来获得知识、发展能力、生成情感的学习方式,它注重学习的情境性、交互性、亲历性,符合英语学习的特点和要求。本研究借助"第二人生"为代表的网络虚拟环境进行体验式英语学习的探索,并通过访谈了解"第二人生"对学生学习英语的影响以及学生对此种学习方式的态度。研究发现,"第二人生"下的英语学习可以增强学生的英语学习动机,为学生听说能力的培养提供丰富的活动和生动的学习环境,是对英语课堂教学的有益补充,基于网络虚拟环境的英语教学具有很大的研究和开拓空间。
Experiential learning is the process of making meaning from direct experience, i. e. , "learning from experience". It emphasizes context, interaction and experience, which corresponds with the nature of English study. This paper explored the experimental learning of English based on Second Life, software representing the virtual reality and investigated students' attitude and learning effect through interview. The research revealed that this kind of English learning can enhance students' learning motivation and interest. The rich resources and lively environment in Second Life are beneficial supplement to the classroom teaching. English learning based on virtual environment has great potential for development and research.
