摘要
复译将竞争机制引入同一作品的翻译之中。不同的《孙子兵法》译者为翻译史地位而相互竞争,贾尔斯、格里菲斯等强力译者因为时间上的先到优势在竞争中占据有利地位,后世译者处于他们影响的阴影下,难以阐释创新。后世译者中,梁荣锦巧妙地选择蔡志忠的漫画册《孙子说:兵学的先知》为翻译底本对《孙子兵法》进行漫画化改写,实现了译文的漫画化、具象化和剧情化。这种漫画化改写本质上是对前驱译本的误读,它使梁荣锦突破了贾尔斯、格里菲斯等强力前驱的遮护,赢得《孙子兵法》翻译史中的一席之地。
Retranslation ushers competition into the translation of the same literary works. Different translators of The Art of War competed against each other for historical reputation, strong translators like Lionel Giles and Samuel B. Griffith enjoyed favorable positions in the competition due to their advantageous priority,and made under the shadow of their influence later translators who could hardly achieve any interpretative originality. Among the latecomers, Leong Weng Kam tactically chose Tsai Chih Chung^s comic book Sunzi Speaks:The Art of War as the master copy to rewrite the source text comically,and achieved comicalization,image-materialization and plotting in the translated text. This comic rewriting was in nature misreading of precursors' translations,which enabled Leong Weng Kam to break away from the cover of strong precursors such as Giles and Griffith,and won himself a historical position.
