民国时期,贵州水灾发生频繁,水灾发生之后伴随的后果往往是人员的大量伤亡,财产遭受巨大损失,严重影响了社会经济的发展。其成因,自然方面包括气候因素以及山地和喀斯特地貌的特殊地形;人文方面包括水利建设不足、毁林开荒、战祸影响以及科技落后等。

During the period of Republic of China, floods occurred frequently in Guizhou. Consequently, many people died or wounded; lots of properties or lives lost, which greatly affected the development of economy and society. People had to rethink why floods occurred so frequently, which let peopie to realize the importance of harmony between man and nature, it is equally important to upgrade the technology level for predicting and controlling disasters.
