摘要
本文采用个案研究方法考察我国香港高校课程提供的二语输出活动以及个案学生的语言发展轨迹。文章描述了个案学生学习的官方课程、实际课程、隐性课程和课外课程中的语言输出活动,分析了该个案二语写作的复杂性、流利性和准确性等语言发展指标。研究结果表明,港校的立体课程为学生的语言输出和二语发展提供了多元机会,有助于提高其语言的流利性、复杂性和准确性。其中,流利性和词汇复杂性的发展最为明显,准确性发展次之,句法复杂性发展较为平缓。从各项语言发展指标来看,个案学生的二语书面语水平远远高于我国大陆英语专业本科生,已接近甚至达到英语本族语者书面语水平。
This paper investigates second language output activities in the curriculum of a Hong Kong university through a case study of a student, and explores her language development. It examines the language output activities of the student in the official curriculum, actual curriculum, implicit curriculum and extra-curriculum throughout the university life, and analyzes the language development measures such as language complexity, fluency, and accuracy of the student. The results show that the multi-dimensional curriculum provides ample opportunities of language output and language development for the student, and helps the student increase her language proficiency. The student has made significant progress in fluency, complexity and accuracy in her second language writing. Her fluency and lexical complexity improve most significantly, accuracy improves next to fluency and lexieal complexity, and syntactic com- plexity improves moderately. Judging from these language development measures, the written language of the student develops much faster than that of English majors in the China's Mainland, and has approached or even reached the level of native English speakers.
