摘要
小说翻译不能仅以是否传达相同内容,更应以是否再现原文风格,表现原作文学与美学意义为评判标准。积极修辞作为小说中使用最频繁的艺术现象,其可译性研究为如何使小说译文和原文在风格上保持一致,避免翻译中的风格丧失提供了新的路径。以《水浒传》中积极修辞的英译为例,通过具体分析小说中的积极修辞及其在译本中的可译性及限度,从而探讨保留原作风格的重要性和应采用的具体翻译策略。
Novel translation should not merely aim at conveying the same content, but should be evaluated by whether it has re-produced the original style, and expressed the original literary and aesthetic meaning. Positive rhetoric is the most frequently used artistic phenomenon in novels, and the study on its trans-latability has provided a new path for how to keep consistent style in the translation and original texts and the avoidance of losing the style in translation. Exemplified by the English translation of positive rhetoric in "All Men are Brothers", through a specific analysis on the positive rhetoric in the novel as well as the limit of its translatability in the translation, this paper explores the im-portance of preserving the original style and specific translation strategies that should be adopted.
