An Exploration of Marco Polo's Never Going to Ecina

马可波罗在甘州与额里折兀之间插叙了亦集乃城、哈剌和林、巴尔忽平原诸地,以致国内外学者在其来华途中是否路经亦集乃城、哈剌和林问题上存在较大争议。仔细分析研究《马可波罗寰宇记》主要版本对亦集乃城记载内容,在考狄埃、伯希和等前人研究基础上,可进一步论证马可波罗事实上并没有到过亦集乃城。马可波罗对亦集乃城的记载,应均为道听途说之辞。

Through a detailed analysis and study of the Ecina records in the major versions The Travels of Marco Polo, and on the basis of the studies by Henri Cordier, Paul Pelliot, this paper demonstrates that Marco Polo had never been to Ecina. The Ecina records of Marco Polo should merely be hearsay from others.
