小姓大家族——万安县潞田村衷姓家族文化研究

Little Surname Big Family——Research on Zhongxing(衷姓) Family's Culture on Lutian Village in Wan'an Country

家族是中国传统乡村社会的基本单元,江西万安县潞田村衷姓就是一个这样的家族代表。他们唐代从福建迁来,至宋明,已从一小姓发展为大家族。究其发展史,其最初与附近大族联姻、重耕兴教、经商购产,有了坚实的经济基础;在这同时,加强了宗族文化建设,如修族谱、建宗祠、定族训、弘善举、甚至婚丧嫁娶,增强了宗族内部凝聚力,扩展了衷姓在地方的势力与影响。

Chinese traditional rural society is patriarchal; Zhong family at Lutian village in Jiangxi Wanan is one such family. They moved to Fujian in the Tang Dynasty, and developed from a small family to a large one till the Song and Ming. Investigate its history, they initially married with the nearby large family; pay attention to agriculture and education, engaged business to acquire property, and then had a solid economic base. At the same time, they strengthened the clan culture, such as genealogy, built temples, gave the family motto, Philip charity, even weddings and marriage, and en- hanced the internal cohesion of the clan, extended the power and influence in places. This kind of family culture is worth studying.
