Patent Filings Abroad See Big RiseA report by the World Intellectual Property Organization （WIPO） shows that Chinese patent filings abroad have increased significantly since 2000. The report, published on May 23, notes that between 2000 and 2005, the average annual growth rate of overseas patent fillings reached 40%, and has remained at 23% since 2005. ＂The data show that more and more patent applications from China are being filed outside the country,＂ WIPO spokesperson Edward Harris said.
