The mold width adjustment is a key point and difficult point on continuous casting production. The hydraulic mold width adjustment was used in No. 3 Branch of General Steel-making Plant of WISCO. However fault occurred frequently at the initial stage of use. This paper introduced three models of the mold width adjustment, analyzed the operating principle of the equipment, summarized the key point of daily maintenance work, and found out the faults and its reason. The accident was avoided.
