网络四字语浅论

A Discussion on Internet Four-character Phrases

现在网络上一些四字语很流行。本文试图探讨它们的语法结构是否符合汉语的习惯,语义表达是否清晰,以及它们的前途。本文认为,网络四字语来源多样,表义的清晰度也不同。文章着重分析了简缩四字语的语音、语义、词法方面的特点,认为大部分简缩四字语并不是语词,不符合汉语的构词法,表义不清晰。

Four-character phrases are widely used nowadays on the internet. Therefore it＇s very important to investigate the patterns of their structures, the clarity of their semantic meanings and their development in the Chinese language. Based on the linguistic data collected from the internet, this article explores their various origins, analyzes the characteristics of the four-character phrases from the aspects of phonetics, semantics and morphology. It can be concluded that the majority of the four-character phrases cannot be regarded as words from the linguistics point of view, and that some of them even fail to observe the rules of Chinese morphology and to express the meaning clearly.
