The researches on introducing Dynamic Systems Theory （DST） in the field of applied linguistics have a span of ten years. DST considers SLA as a dynamic and complex process with the characteristics of non - linearity and variation, combining cognition with social views in SLA researches. The paper introduces DST＇ s key concepts, principles and its influence on SLA＇ s contents and methodology.
