摘要
《赫索格》体现了作者对知识分子精神世界、行为方式和生活状态的思考。索尔·贝娄在存在主义视角下,展示了犹太知识分子生活在"悲惨"的生活中,人生是一段又一段毫无疑义的重复,人们行事倾向于用内心思考来代替实际行动,带有鲜明的不同常人的特点。在作品中,作者认为人们所生存的这个"荒诞"世界是无法打破、不能扭转的。
Saul Bellow＇s fiction Herzog conveys his thought about the intellectual＇s spiritual world, behavioral patterns and living conditions. With the theory of Existentialism, Bellow describes a miserable life about the intellectual characters in his book. For them life is mere a meaningless repetition; instead of taking actions, they tend to think more, which is different from common people. In his fiction, he shows his pity about the absurd world which people live in. And he believes it cannot be changed and improved.
