库仑阻塞效应是近年来固体物理中的研究热点之一.扼要介绍了金属隧道结及半导体量子点中的库仑阻塞现象的基本特性,库仑阻塞与电子态尺寸量子化之间的相互影响,量子点旋转门器件(QDTS)的原理和其他潜在的应用前景.
Recently, Coulomb blockade has been forming a hot topic in condensed matter physi-cs. In the present article we aim to give a brief introduction to the basic features of Co-ulomb blockade in metal tunneling junctions and semiconductor quantum dots, the intera-ction between Coulomb blockade and size quantization of electronic states, the operating mechanism of quantum dot turnstiles (QDTS), and other potential applications.
