在社会转型与发展的背景下,高等教育也面临着转型与改革。王一兵教授提出,"开放、灵活、终身、全纳"已成为高等教育演变与发展的一个大趋势,成为引导高等教育未来革新、改革和发展的核心理念。MOOCs体现了开放、灵活、终身、全纳的教育理念和教育民主、教育担当的精神。我国应尊重国情,建设有中国特色的MOOCs体系。开放大学是先进教育理念、先进教育模式、先进教育生产力的代表。

In an era of social progress and transformation,higher education has to be transformed and reformed. Professor Wang Yibing put forward that openness,flexibility,lifetime learning,and inclusiveness are the trends of the development of contemporary higher education,and have become a core notion guiding future higher education reform and development. MOOCs embodies the notion of openness,flexibility,lifetime learning,and inclusiveness in education and also educational democracy and responsibilities. China's fundamental realities have to be respected when MOOCs with Chinese characteristics is to be established. As an idea of vision,open universities represent an advanced education pattern and productivity.
