A Review of Raabe's Pure Philosophical Perspective on Philosophical Counseling

拉伯(Peter B.Raabe)是加拿大菲沙河谷大学的哲学教授,也是哲学咨询领域的领军人物之一,是较早在加拿大从事哲学践行的学者。Raabe在哲学践行领域卓有建树,著作甚为丰富,实践颇具特色。他主要从否定方面对哲学咨询的特质进行了研究。在哲学践行方法上,他对Gerd B.Achenbach的"超越法"("beyond-method method")所凸显的后现代主义哲学特点提出了严厉的批评;同时对其他非哲学要素的渗入持否定态度。避免了后现代主义哲学及其他非哲学因素的影响,Raabe本人所开创的FITT法在哲学践行领域具有一定反响。因此,对Raabe理论和实践进行研究具有现实借鉴意义。

Peter Raabe, a philosophical professor from Fraser Valley University, is one of the pioneers of Philosophical Counseling in Canada. He is accomplished in Philosophical Practice （PP） and his counseling method is very distinguishing. His works are very fruitful and filled with profound philosophical thoughts. This paper argues that Raabe mainly investigated the characteristics of philosophical counseling from the negative aspects which is its feature, as well as deficiency. In method of philosophical counseling, he holds the perspective of anti-postmodern philosophy. He put harsh criticism to Achenbach＇s ＂beyond-method method＂ which displays the passive characteristics of postmodernism philosophy. In order to avoid the influence of postmodern philosophy and other unphilosophical factors in this field, Raabe himself created FITT method, which has evoked some responses. So, it is of realistic significance for us to research Raabe＇ s theory and counseling on his practice.
