Evolution and enlightenment of women's Christian education in the minority areas in Yunnan in early modern times

教会教育在中国近代教育史上占据显赫位置。女子基督教教育在云南民族地区曾经历了萌芽、发展、成熟直至终结的历史,对云南民族地区的经济文化发展,教育的观念、模式、习俗以及女性的文化素质和社会地位等方面都产生了重要影响。梳理云南民族地区女子基督教教育兴起的背景和发展历程,总结其成功的教育经验,对我国当前少数民族女子教育的振兴和发展提供了非常现实的借鉴。

Christian education is very significant in China in the early modem times. The emergence, development, maturity and disap- pearance of women＇s Christian education in the minority areas in Yunnan played an important role in the economic and cultural develop- ment of these areas and exerted much influence on the concept and models of education, customs, as well as women＇s cultural quality and social status. A historical study of the women＇s Christian education in the minority areas in Yunnan and a summary of its successful experience can shed some light on the current revitalization and development of the minority women＇s education in China.
