IRooted in the folk, the two operas of Songyang gaoqiang tone and Xi＇ an gaoqiang tone face many chal lenges in new cultural context as to the current survival condition and inheritance. There are many deepseated cultur al phenomenons worth further exploring and research. The comparison, analysis and research on the history, style and characteristics, singing tunes and civil and military aria of Songyang gaoqiang tone and Xi ＇ an gaoqiang tone help to explore the similarities and differences of the two operas. It can expand the horizons of our awareness of gao qiang tone and lead to more theoretical and practical exploration of the tone and operas with educational and academic value.
