方志传播学是方志学与传播学相互交叉、融合的产物。方志传播学应以方志和方志知识为研究对象,以传播学的视角,立足于自古至今方志与方志知识在空间与时间上的传播事实,并结合当下的信息化传播发展,探究方志与方志知识的传播历史和发展趋势,目的在于探求方志与方志知识的传播规律,以期最大限度地发挥地方志的社会价值,提高社会传承地方志的自觉性。方志传播有直接传播、中介传播、转换传播三种,研究采用的方法除传统模式外,更要注意从时间、空间和个案三个维度进行。
