以实践为基础,对英语动物词汇和短语的若干用法进行了系统归纳,从动物词汇表述的生动性、形象性、简洁性、丰富性和趣味性等多个角度对这些用法进行了全面阐释,并引用丰富的例句来加以说明,同时借助英语和汉语对同一内容的不同表达方式来进行对比,进一步说明动物词汇恰当而灵活的运用能取得美妙的修辞效果。

Based on practice, this paper highlights the usage of animal-specific words and phrases from the multiple perspectives of vividness, imagery, succinctness, profundity, wits and wisdom, etc. Meanwhile copious references are cited as a compelling proof to the aesthetic value of animal-specific wording, complemented by comparisons between Chinese and English versions. If aptly applied, animal-specific wording spices up a description considerably.
