SDX Taofen, located on Beijing＇s Meishuguan East Street, has decided to operate 24 hours a day, sevendays a week. That decision is surprising, considering in recent years many bookstores have closed, the result of stiff competition from e-commerce, and that other shops have chosen to operate only during normal business hours. SDX Taofen made the transition on April 18, 2014, when it became the first 24-hour bookstore in Beijing.
