质押是债的担保形式之一。质权的法律特征是物权性、从属性、不可分性、物上代位性、优先受偿性、移转质物的占有性及客体的特定性。司法实践中认定质押担保效力时，应结合质权的特征并注意质押合同成立与生效、出质人意思表示不真实及流质契约效力认定三个方面的问题。
Pignus is one form of obligectic security. It has the character of property, subordination, inseparability, prior tempore, transfer- ence, and specific objects. In judicial practice, the confirmation of its legal validity must be in the light of its characteristics, creation, effec - tiveness, the true meaning of the expression,and the validity of the floating pignus contract.
