翻译策略与翻译文学经典化

Translation Strategy and Canonization of Literary Translation

本研究选取四部翻译文学作品,从译本选材、出版背景、翻译策略、译本接受、译者语言与文学修养等方面进行对比。对比显示,除翻译策略和译本接受之外的上述各项都相似的情况下,译者由于翻译策略选择失误而导致译本不为读者接受,进而葬送译本令人期待的经典化成就。与此相反,即使译者在诸多方面不占优势,但倘若翻译策略选择妥当,译本仍然能得到读者的喜爱甚至完成经典建构。因此,研究认为在翻译文学经典化的众多制约因素中,翻译策略十分重要,是不能也不应被忽视的。

In this paper,four books of literary translations have been compared in terms of story types,social condition of their publications,translation strategy,their reception,and translators' language and literary ability.The findings are that those books share similarity in all the above aspects except translation strategy,and their reception would be poorly accepted by readers if the translators failed to choose the appropriate translation strategy,and that those books whose translators chose a suitable translation strategy but had no superiority in other aspects would be greatly accepted by readers,or even be canonized in the end.Results of such a comparison lead us to believe that translation strategy,among a variety of factors which help a literary translation to be canonized,is very important and should never be ignored.
