The theory ＂division of labor＂is one of the most important content of Marxist theories.This paper analyzes the relations between division of labor and the five basic elements of historical materialism： productivity,production relations,superstructure,human development and human society,and demonstrates that division of labor,theory is an important access to studying the operational mechanism of social development and a key to grasping the historical materialism,which occupies an extremely important position in historical materialism.
