LAN－based IP Phone System

三网合一是将电话网、有线电视网和计算机网合并成一个统一的网络，它可以提高网络的利用率，形成新的服务类型，带来巨大的经济效益和社会效益。文章提出了一种由电话网和计算机网相结合而成的新型网络系统－局域网电话系统，并对该系统的整体结构、系统管理服务器、网关和数字终端分别进行了介绍。利用该系统可在计算机局域网中提供电话服务，从而避免计算机网络与电话网的重复建设，提高线路的利用效率，并可提供许多新颖的增值服务。

： Converged Network tries to merge existing PSTNs，CATV networks and computer networks into one unitary network．It makes better use of network bandwidth，provides new kinds of services，and brings great economic benefits as well as social benefits．This paper proposes a novel LAN－based IP phone system that merges traditional PSTNs and computer networks together to meet the demands of the next－generation Converged Network．The designs of its architecture，System Management Server，Internet－PSTN Gateway，and digital terminals are presented in the paper．With this approach，the system can provide traditional phone services on LAN．Therefore the redundancy in constructing both computer networks and PSTNs can be avoided．The system can also make more efficient use of the bandwidth and provide some novel value－added services that are very useful．
