On the Connection Between Shaanxi’s Education and the Economic Development in Western China

形成陕西科教大省与经济穷省巨大反差的原因既有历史的 ,也有现实的 ,既有政策方面的原因也有自身的因素。要使陕西在西部大开发中具有强劲的发展后劲 ,基础教育是其基础 ,培养能工巧匠的职业技术教育有着重要的作用。要使陕西的高等教育发挥作用 。

The striking contrast between the double positions of Shaanxi Province as an educational giant and as an economic pauper is attributed to such diverse reasons as history, reality, policy and the provincial interior. Shaanxi Province should base on a development of elementary education the improvement of its potentials of development in the campaign of the economic development in western China and locate occupational and technic education on an important position. Moreover, it should introduce the approach of combining industrial production with scientific research so as to give a full play to higher education.
