摘要
《快乐王子》故事的成功源于童话的深刻性,其作者王尔德把在真实社会中的种种丑恶现象揉入故事,对社会进行了无情的鞭挞和揭露。他毫不留情地抨击了当时社会严重的两极分化现象,批判了社会对穷人的冷漠态度,探讨了解决社会贫富两极分化问题的路径选择,更对资本主义制度宣扬的功利主义道德原则的正义性提出质疑。在这个意义上,《快乐王子》是当时良心文人的政治信仰与社会理想的集中体现。
the success of The Happy Prince lies in the great depth of the fairy tale. Oscar Wilde described ugliness in the real world through this story and relentlessly exposed and castigated the world he lived in. He mercilessly attacked society on its wealth polarization and coldness to poor people, discussed the path to solve wealth polarization, and queried the justice of utilitarian ethics advocated by capitalism. In this sense, The Happy Prince was a concentrated show of the moral intellectnal’s political faith and social ideal.
