At present, the main mode of library＇ s books and materials management is centralized database technology, however, with the development of the modern information technology, this kind of management mode can＇t already meet the needs of the modern library＇s books and materials management, so the distributed database technology is born at the right moment. This paper introduces the definition and advantages of the distributed database technology, analyzes the characteristics of the books and materials management, and makes deep exploration on the actual application of the distributed database technology in library＇ s books and materials management.
