Experience of Water-efficient Utilization in the Zhang River Irrigation District and its Impacf

湖北省漳河灌区几十年来坚持以提高灌溉水利用率和水分生产率为目标,不断改进和完善蓄水、取水、输水、 配水和灌溉水系统,逐步形成了大、中、小,蓄、引、提相结合的灌溉体系。漳河的经验表明,科学的管理、合理的 调度,可使水资源的综合利用率和单位水量的产值大幅度提高。

The Zhang River Irrigation District has been targeting the improvement of irrigation efficiency in the District and water productivity for several decades and constantly enhanced and modernized water system for storage, in-take, conveyance, distribution and irrigation. An irrigation system characterized by the combination of large, middle and small sized and the integration of storage, diversion and pumping has been gradually formed. The experience accumulated by the Zhang River Irrigation District has proved that comprehensive utilization of water resources and productivity per unit of water can be markedly improved by scientific management and rational regulation.
