《牡丹亭还魂记》与《西厢记》之比较研究

A Comparative Study of The West Chamber and The Peony Pavilion

元代王实甫的《西厢记》和明代汤显祖的《牡丹亭》是中国戏曲史上两座耸立的丰碑,在戏曲舞台上盛演不衰。两相比较：同是爱情的颂歌,但主题思想开掘的深度不同;主要人物配置基本相同,但性格特征有所不同;都是悲欢离合的故事,但戏剧结构和舞台表现大不相同。二者各有千秋,但从总体上来说,《牡丹亭》略胜一筹。

The West Chamber by Wang Shifu in the Yuan Dynasty and The Peony Pavilion by Tang Xianzu in the Ming Dynasty are two towering monuments in the history of Chinese opera,and have been performing unfailingly on the stage.Both of them eulogize love,but different in the depth of expression of the theme;the configuration of main characters in the two works is similar,but their characteristics are somewhat different;and both of them are full of joys and sorrows,but quite different in the structure and the stage performance.Each has its strength and weakness,but overall,The Peony Pavilion is slightly better.
