On the Progress of Socialist Modernization in China

新中国成立这六十多年来,我们曾试图学习先进国家的经验,借鉴世界其他国家的经济发展模式,也试图探索有中国特色的现代化发展模式。我们沿着由盲目到科学,由学习套用到独立探索,由片面追求经济增长的高速度到以科学发展观作为指导,更加注重整体效益、注重以人为本的现代化发展。

For over six decades since the foundation of the People′s Republic of China, we try to draw on the advanced experience and economic development patterns from the developed countries, and explore a modernized development pattern with Chinese characteristics. We experienced a process from attempt blindly to rationally, from rigid leaning to independent exploration, and from pursuing rapid economic growth unilaterally to set the scientific concept of development as guidance, then pay more attention to the overall interests and the man-oriented modernized development pattern.
