Going to Dunhuang

当年在巴黎塞纳河边的书摊和吉美博物馆初识敦煌莫高窟,引发了常书鸿先生去敦煌莫高窟的渴望。回国后,常书鸿一家几经周折终于来到了敦煌,起初在敦煌的生活非常艰苦,但是仍然被敦煌艺术深深地所吸引。常书鸿先生率领研究所人员为敦煌石窟的保护与研究付出了艰辛的努力。

Knowing about Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes for the first time from the bookstalls by the Seine River and Mus6e Guimet had aroused Mr. Chang Shuhong＇ s desire for going to the Mogao Grottoes. When he returned to China, Chang Shuhong and his family experienced many setbacks and finally got to Dunhuang. His life there was very hard at first, but he was still deeply attracted by Dunhuang art. Chang Shuhong and the researchers he led had made arduous efforts in the conservation and research of Dunhuang caves.
