A Comparison of Revenue in Patent Auction and Analysis of Social Welfare

技术竞争在高技术产业中具有向产品竞争延展的趋势。本文研究了存在后续市场的三种标准的股权投标的拍卖机制和形式,分析了其与现金投标专利拍卖在收益及社会福利方面的异同,结果表明股权投标专利拍卖的期望收益严格大于现金投标专利拍卖,但社会总福利效应却相反。

Technique - competition in high - tech industry extends towards product - competition. This paper studies the mechanism and form of three kinds of standard equity - bid patent auction with an aftermarket, and compares its similarities and differences with cash - bid patent auction in revenue and social welfare. The results show that the expected revenue of equity - bid patent auction is strictly greater than that of cash - bid patent auction, but their social welfare is opposite.
