The Recent Political-Economic Development of Chinese Americans and Policies and Suggestions to China

通过对近期美国华侨华人人口、职业构成、企业家实力、社团运动、联邦与地方参政情况等政治经济发展的主要方面进行阐述与分析,探讨在中美关系大背景下,美国华侨华人政治经济发展遇到的新问题与新机遇,以及其在中美关系良性发展过程中扮演的重要角色,由此提出对国家华侨华人政策的相关建议。

This paper describes and analyses the main aspects of recent political-economic developments of Chinese Americans such as population, occupation consistence, entrepreneur situation, movement of Chinese Associations, federal and local political participation and so on. Then discussing the new problems and opportunities of Chinese Americans in the political-economic development under the background of Sino-US relationship, and their significant roles in the favorable development of Sino-US relationship. Based on this the relative suggestions are proposed on the oversea Chinese policy of China.
