摘要
在语境中猜测词义既是一项重要的阅读策略,也是学生学习词汇的一种重要途径。文章首先介绍了在语境中猜测词义的语境线索。定义、同义词或近义词、反义词、指代关系、搭配、从句以及例句都可作为猜测词义的重要语境线索。随后,文章介绍了在语境中猜测词义时读者需遵循的系统步骤:调用语法知识判断词性、观察语境、猜测、分析构词法、查字典。最后,文章建议在进行语境中猜测词义训练时遵循“先分开后综合”的原则。
Guessing the meaning of words in context is not only an important reading strategy but also a significant approach to learn vocabulary. The paper first introduces the contextual clues while guessing the meaning of words in context. Definitions, synonyms, antonyms, reference, collocations, clause and examples can all serve as important contextual clues. Afterwards, the paper continues with the systematic steps concerning guessing the meaning of words, that is, determining part of speech by employing grammar, observing context, guessing, analyzing the formation of words, referring to the dictionary.
