In 2003, seizing the opportunity of the implementation of the urban spatial developmental strategy of Jinan, construction of a university technology park commenced in Changqing District to meet the demand of expedition of universities in size and course offerings. A modem university town aggregating investment potential and cultural atmosphere has been built in little more than a decade.
