In numerous chronic diseases of respiratory system,incidence rate and fatality rate of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is higher,and in recent years showed a rising trend. It has brought serious negative impact on the life and health of the elderly. Within this context,research on pathogenesis and treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease has become one of the focus of clinical workers＇ attention. This paper will make a detailed overview from the epidemic situation and damage diagnosis,etiology and pathogenesis in elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
