In this paper, the AutoCAD ActiveX Automation is introduced and pinpointed. Some techniques of using ActiveX to develop AutoCAD applications are demonstrated, such as how to access methods and properties of objects, how to use events of document objects and how to develop database applications based on ADO. With these techniques a surface of ship hull is modeled in AutoCAD.
