"Sinophone Articulations" is a new concept in sinological studies which has departed from traditional scholastic approaches to find new theoretical and practical possibilities. Sinophone studies adopt the broadest definition of the Sinitic language-also called hanyu, huayu, huawen or zhongwen. Contrary to the rest, Sinophone cultures are in a rather different situation. We should reflect upon the historical truths of dissociation, displacement, and diversity. Singapore is the best example. We will find that the experiences and memories of the Sinophone culture in Singapore formed over the last half-century configure a different family tree. As contemporary Sinophone culture flourishes and evolves, neither the word"China"nor"Chinese"can subsume the remarkable heterogeneity of cultural production during this period. I will be providing ten keywords for us to reflect upon the interactive experiences between Sinophone articulations and the Singapore culture.
