Pen's Dance in the Country of Maple Leaves——The Origin and Development of Canadian Chinese Literature

从第一部加拿大华裔文集伊始,华裔加拿大文学经历了30多年的发展。华裔作家们用中文、英文或法文创作了大量优秀作品,引起了主流社会的关注。华裔加拿大文学重构了华裔社区历史,反映了华裔面临的身份危机以及杂糅的生活状态,表现了东西方文化的碰撞和融合,同时也批判了加拿大社会中的种族歧视和主流文化中的霸权思想。作为海外华裔文学的一个分支,华裔加拿大文学已经打破沉默,形成了加拿大文学界中一个颇具特色的领域。

Since the publication of the first collection of the works of Canadian Chinese writers, Canadian Chinese literature has developed for 30 years. Those writers produced a great number of excellent works and draw attention from the mainstream society. Their writings reconstructs the history of Chinese communities, reflects their identity crisis as well as their hybrid life state, represents the clash and fusion between the eastern and western civilization, and at the same time critiques the racial discrimination in Canadian society and the hegemony in the mainstream culture. As a branch of overseas Chinese literature, Canadian Chinese literature has broken the ice and become a characteristic field in Canadian literature.
