为人师表的传统理念主要表现为 :敢为人师的抗俗勇气 ;诲人不倦的奉献精神 ;平易博爱的仁者胸怀 ;教学相长的谦虚品格 ;宽厚精湛的学识技能。现代教师为人师表应当确立学生师表与社会师表相统一的师表观念 ;弘扬师范精神与时代精神相统一的师表精神 ;坚持先进性与大众性相统一的师表内涵 ;运用言传与身教相统一的师表艺术。

Traditional idea of being a paragon of virtue and learning is mainly as follows: unconventional courage of being a teacher; devoted spirit of teaching with tireless zeal; benevolent and universal love and sense of equality; modest character of learning from students; broad range of knowledge and consummate skill. To enlighten being a paragon of virtue and learning today requires that a teacher must have an idea of being not only a paragon for students, but for society; promote both spirit of maintaining morality, learning knowledge and that of keeping pace with times; unify advancement and popularity; and make use of art of teaching by personal example as well as verbal instruction.
