从《促织》的英译本对比中西译者译风的不同

On the different translating styles of Chinese and Western translators based on a contrastive study of two English versions of The Cricket

《促织》是蒲松龄的文言小说《聊斋志异》中的名篇。从词汇、句子结构和理解三大方面对比分析著名翻译家张庆年和丹尼斯、维克多等的两种译本,体现中西译者作为不同的翻译主体的不同的译风,分析其译风不同的客观原因,以期对国内译者提高翻译质量有所启发。

The Cricket is a most popular story chosen from the Selected Tales from Liao Zhai, a collection of classical Chinese stories written by Pu Songling （a famous novelist of the Qing Dynasty）. Zhang Qingnian and Denis C. ＆ Victor H. Mair have translated it into English. Based on a eontrastive study of the two translations in the aspects of choice of words, sentence structure and comprehension of the original text, the different translation styles of Chinese and western translators are studied. Then, the objective reason for these differences is analyzed so as to provide in- spiration for Chinese translators to improve their translation work.
