Transcultural perspective——Looking at construction of modern Chinese poetics from comparison of Yeh Chia-ying and Yeh Wei-lien

作为中国当代诗学和比较文学领域的两位杰出学者,叶嘉莹和叶维廉既有相同也有不同的地方。二人都拥有跨文化的知识背景和学术视野,但在如何建构中国当代诗学这一问题上却有不同的看法,尤其是对于中国传统文论和西方文论的态度。这一区别可以从两人的学术经历和素养中找到端倪。

Yeh Chia - ying and Yeh Wei - lien, both as distinguished scholars in Chinese poetics and comparative literature, have a lot of similarities and differences . Although they both have transcuhural experiences and background, they hold very different views as to how modem Chinese poetics should be constructed, especially when it comes to how to treat traditional Chinese poetics and western cul- ture. The differences can be traced back to their academic experiences and trainings.
